The 4WD ride-on mower with extra ground clearance for slopes and difficult terrain
Comfortable and safe mowing on slopes with the AS 940 Sherpa 4WD XL. The 2-cylinder Briggs & Stratton 724 cc engine develops 27 HP. And thanks to its fuel pump and engine oil, it is perfectly suited to slopes. The ride-on mower with its permanent 4-wheel drive, XL tyres (agricultural structure), a very low centre of gravity and a total weight of only 298 kg provides the necessary safety on slopes. The ride-on mower is driven by a stepless hydrostatic transmission. The hydrostatic transmission allows the speed to be set from 0 to 6.7 km/h forwards and from 0 to 6.5 km/h backwards using the driving lever. The hydrostatic transmission is controlled exclusively by the driving lever, which has four functions: Forward and reverse, driving brake and parking brake. There is also a foot brake. When this brake is applied, the driving lever moves to the middle position. This automatically applies the parking brake. In extreme conditions, the rear wheel lock can be applied at any time with the pedal.

A very robust cutterbar design
The AS 940 Sherpa 4WD XL has a surfaced mowing deck with an AS cross-blade system and a cutting width of 90 cm. This means that it can mow up to 5,500 m²/hour and grass up to 1.5 m in height. The ride-on mower is also suitable for brushwood. The AS cross-blade system cuts, mulches and shreds simultaneously. This is done by the reversible blades on oscillating bearings that are attached to the cutter bar. The blades cut the grass and then the mulching blade above mulches and shreds it. The closed mowing deck, which deposits the cut grass to the rear, provides optimal mowing. This ensures safety, especially on slopes and in wet conditions, as the cut grass is not rolled over. The surfaced mowing deck prevents obstacles from rising up. This prevents the blade from touching the ground when driving over a bump, for example. This protects the blades and the mown lawn. The cutting height adjustment is central and spring-loaded. The cutting height can be set in 5 positions from 80 to 135 mm.

Maximum comfort even on long working days
The go-kart-like seating position ensures that people between 1.60 m and 2.00 m tall can work comfortably. This is due in part to the long, all-round tubular frame. In addition, the seat can be individually adjusted in length for each user. The seat suspension package can be continuously adjusted to the individual user. As the driver sits “in” the machine, the low centre of gravity of the AS 940 Sherpa 4WD XL remains low. The ride-on mower also features a brushcutter.
