The AS 940 Sherpa 4WD RC is the world’s first ride-on mower with remote control. It allows you to work comfortably while sitting or with the remote control. Equipped with the Briggs & Stratton Professional Series 8 engine and hydrostatic transmission, the AS 940 Sherpa 4WD RC is suitable for slopes and comfortable to operate. On flat and wide ground, it is advisable to work in a seated position to achieve a high area performance. The remote control mode is used for high operator safety when working on slopes. The comfort for the operator also increases considerably: no exhaust fumes, no noise, no vibrations, no dust, no pollen, no insects and no brush. In RC mode, the mower can be used safely and comfortably on slopes of up to 33°. This is made possible by the professional remote control with a long range. The following machine functions can be controlled by remote control: start and stop, forward and reverse, cutting height adjustment, blade clutch, differential lock and trim and reverse. In seated mode, the remote control performs some of the functions of an instrument panel. The control levers on the remote control are progressive: The further the control lever is pressed, the higher the speed or steering angle. When the control levers are released, the parking brake engages automatically or the steering switches to neutral. Only a short learning and training phase is required to control the machine safely and accurately.

Fatigue-free working even in seated mode
Thanks to the all-round tubular frame, the AS 940 Sherpa 4WD RC allows a sitting position similar to a “go-kart”. Users with a height of 1.60 m to 2.00 m have enough room. This comfort is further enhanced by the length-adjustable bucket seat. The suspension of the seat can be adjusted continuously for each user. The driver sits “in” the machine and the low centre of gravity remains low. The side-mounted bumper combined with the folding roll bar provides optimum protection for the operator.

The heart of the AS 940 Sherpa 4WD RC: The closed surfaced mowing deck
Like its smaller sister AS 940 Sherpa 4WD XL, the AS 940 Sherpa 4WD RC is also equipped with a 90 cm wide mowing deck. This has an AS cross-blade system that mulches, shreds and ejects the cut grass to the rear. To protect the blades and also the lawn, this mowing deck can avoid obstacles upwards. The only difference to the sister machine is that the cutting height can be adjusted by remote control from 80 to 135 mm, both in RC and MC mode.
