Intended for the practice of classic mountaineering, the SUMMIT EVO ice axe is the indispensable tool for all types of alpine excursions. Lightweight, its hydroformed tube provides excellent grip comfort under the ice axe head. The technical design of the handle shaping ensures the necessary clearance for use on steep and icy terrain. Detailed description.

Lightness: light ice axe, but heavy on the head for good anchoring power.
Hydroformed handle for good grip on shaping and technical design:
– the handle is curved at the top to provide good draw distance when climbing,
– the lower part is straighter and provides effective penetration in snow.
Hot-forged steel head and blade to ensure solid anchors:
– thin blade (3 mm), strong and notched at the end to ensure good anchorage quality on hard snow and ice,
– thicker blade in the center to aid grip on soft snow.
– teeth at the top to strengthen the grip of the ice axe when used as a technical ice axe,
– strong stainless steel tip for excellent penetration in hard snow and for use as a stick ice axe.
High strength and practical aspects:
– Highly durable steel vane to ensure a comfortable contact surface with an edge design for effective stepping,
– angled vane to properly guide the ice axe into the snow (use as a stick ice axe),
– head and tip equipped with holes for passing a carabiner or webbing,
– high-quality aluminum handle (7075 aluminum used in aeronautics), with anodized finish for excellent protection.
