The brushless EC motor features a 2-stage variable speed control that lets you adjust the speed to suit your needs directly on the control handle. If you want to work at low revs, for example for lighter jobs such as edging, it’s best to opt for ECO mode (level 1). This will reduce energy consumption and extend battery life. On the other hand, if you need to trim thick brush and grass, you’ll need to use your machine’s full power. In this case, simply select level 2 using the slide switch. The speed adapts automatically to the cutting tool fitted and can be adjusted continuously.

The STIHL FSA 80 battery trimmer has been specially designed for use with metal cutting tools. It is fitted as standard with the STIHL 230-2 grass blade. However, a wide choice of additional cutting tools and mowing heads is also available. The machine is fitted with a practical attachment ring that adjusts to the operator’s height without the need for tools, allowing the standard STIHL double harness to be attached. It also features a suspension device for easy storage.
